After the Diagnosis: The First 28 Days

Cancer. MS. Autoimmune. Whatever the name is, the diagnosis takes you out of your life and drops you somewhere you've never been. For the first 28 days, you don't walk it alone. Eight live sessions, a guide who knows the terrain, and people walking the same ground.

Small group, on purpose. Regular price after this cohort: $450.

A diagnosis doesn't ask. One phone call, one sentence in a doctor's office, and you're taken out of your old life and set down in a deep, dark forest. No map. No path. A language you don't speak. Things moving in the dark that you can't name yet. And everyone back home means well and has no idea where you are.

What's missing isn't courage. It's a guide. Someone who has a map of this forest, the medical system. Someone who walks next to you, names what's moving in the dark, knows which of the things growing here will feed you and which will poison you: the miracle cures, the well-meant advice, the 3 a.m. internet spirals. Someone who speaks the language of this place.

We won't pretend 28 days gets you out of the forest. It doesn't. But there is a difference between being lost and knowing your way. That difference takes about four weeks to learn.

What this is

Four weeks. One theme per week, taught live. One circle per week, held by Mary Ann. A short daily email, one usable thing at a time. And a team that works inside medicine and has lived the other side of it: as patients, as caregivers, in real loss.

We won't tell you it happens for a reason. We won't tell you to stay positive. We'll walk the first stretch with you.

The four weeks

Week 1
Waking up in the forest
After the Diagnosis
The shock, the first decisions, what actually needs to happen now, and what can wait. Most things can wait. We'll show you which.
Week 2
The map
Navigating the Medical System
Reading your own reports, getting a second opinion, insurance, who does what in a hospital. With Greg, who spent his life inside it.
Week 3
The language
Communication
Talking to doctors so you're heard. Talking to family, your employer, your kids. And the hardest one: asking for help.
Week 4
The road
Walking On
Your nervous system, sleep, what steadies you. With Kami. And what happens after day 28, and how you keep walking.
Every week · With Mary Ann

The Campfire

Once a week, no curriculum. A circle conversation held by Mary Ann. 30+ years at the bedside, and her own long middle. You can talk, or you can just sit by the fire and listen. Both count.

What you get

Live
8 live sessions in 28 days
Four weekly themes plus four Campfire circles. All on Zoom, all live.
Daily
A short daily email
One usable thing a day for 28 days, plus a weekly summary so nothing essential gets lost.
Practical
Handouts you'll actually use
Questions for your doctors, how to organize the paperwork, what to say when people ask.
Human
A small group, max. 10 people
People in the same forest. You're not a ticket number. We read every message.

Who walks with you

Body
Greg Kutcher, MD
Family physician, former hospice director and health-system CEO. The doctor who says "I don't know" when it's true.
Mind
Kami Norland
Resilience coach and art therapist, Harvard-trained, mind-body. Leads the weekly theme sessions.
Soul
Mary Ann Boe
30+ years at the bedside. Lost her own son. Holds the Campfire.
Fascia
Corinna Gallion
Strategy and the through-line. Her own illness story led her here.

What this is not

No "battle" metaphors. No "everything happens for a reason." No seven-step fix for something that has no fix. And no medical advice. We won't diagnose, treat, or second-guess your medical team. We help you carry everything around the medicine, which is usually the part nobody helps with.

$295 for the founding cohort

28 days. Starts [START DATE]. Everything above included.

You help shape this program live. After this group, the price is $450.

FAQ

Is this only for cancer?
No. Cancer, MS, autoimmune, anything serious. The forest looks different, the being-lost is the same. The map, the language, and the circle work for all of it.
I'm not the patient. Can I join?
Yes. Caregivers get dropped in the same forest. Much of the program was built with you in mind.
My diagnosis was months ago. Too late?
No. "The first 28 days" means your first 28 days with us, whenever you're ready to stop being lost.
What if I can't make a live session?
You'll get a weekly summary email, so nothing essential gets lost.
Do I have to talk in the Campfire?
No. Sitting and listening counts.
Refunds?
This founding cohort is final. The price reflects that.
